Mind-blowing heritage meets modern luxury with stunning views. The ginormous, well-equipped kitchen/dining area and comfy living room are to die for. The beds and bedding rival top-notch five-star hotels, and the gardens are lush and meticulously maintained. The jacuzzi and fire pit were jaw-droppingly fantastic, and the wifi was super strong throughout the house. Bonus: there's a nearby farm for fresh eggs, and the local shops and restaurants are a short stroll away. Don't forget to explore the awe-inspiring scenery on your way!

I always come back to the amazing place in Castleton. The staff helped me with a taxi on my first stay. It has everything I need: Wi-Fi, cookware, jacuzzi. Plus, pets are allowed and there's no smoking! I'll be back for Christmas!

My partner and I stayed at Candle House for a relaxing weekend getaway. The combination of historic charm and modern luxury made our stay truly memorable. The views from both inside and outside the hotel were breathtaking, and we couldn't get enough of the beautifully maintained gardens. The beds and bedding were so comfortable that we've decided to order them for our own home. The enormous kitchen/dining room and cozy living room were perfect spaces to unwind. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit every evening. The hotel's location allowed us to easily explore the surrounding area, with plenty of local shops, pubs, and restaurants within walking distance.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a weekend break and was blown away by the combination of history and modern comforts. The thick stone walls and original features added character, while the high-end fixtures and fittings provided a touch of luxury. The views, both from inside and outside the hotel, were simply breathtaking. The kitchen/dining room was massive and well-equipped, making it a great space to hang out. The living room was cozy and comfortable. The beds and bedding were on par with five-star hotels and were incredibly comfortable. The gardens were beautifully maintained and we even got lucky with some fresh fruits and vegetables. The hot tub and fire pit were a definite highlight and we enjoyed them every evening. The wifi signal throughout the hotel was strong, which was a bonus. There is a farm next door where you can get delicious chicken and duck eggs from an honesty box. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the surrounding area and there were plenty of local shops, pubs, and restaurants within walking distance. The journey up Winnet's Pass and along the High Peaks was a scenic delight.
While the hotel offered many positives, there were a few negatives that I must mention. the directions provided were a bit confusing and we struggled to find the hotel.

The ambiance of Candle House was truly delightful, with its charming and historic decor. The stone walls and original features provided a sense of nostalgia and comfort. As a senior woman, I appreciated that the hotel had high-end modern fixtures and fittings, making it both beautiful and accessible for people of all ages.
The only thing I would have asked for during my stay was a little more assistance from the staff. The children working there seemed busy, which sometimes made it difficult to get immediate help.

Stunning views from both inside and outside the house. The kitchen/dining room is spacious, well-equipped, and enjoyable to be in. The living room is also a lovely space to relax in. The beds and bedding are incredibly comfortable and comparable to those in top-rated five-star hotels.
Cannot find any fault.
